3/4-1". Almost egg-shaped.
Dull reddish brown to brownish yellow above with 2 black dots on sides
of pronotum and 3 black dots on side of each elytron. Top of head,
scutellum, and underside blackish, tinged with green.

woods.

Eastern half of the United
States.

| Food |
Adult feeds on leaves
and fruits of wild and cultivated grapes. Larva eats decaying wood in
tree stumps.

| Life Cycle |
Eggs are laid on wet stumps
and rotten fallen trees, where larvae feed. They pupate in adjacent soil.
Adults emerge May-September.
